2 inch Cement Art Plant Pot

Like everyone else, Covid-19 forced my hand to accommodate the way I earned my income.

I used to be a full time Bartender that worked open to close 4 to 5 days a week. When the shutdown went into effect I was reduced to taking to-go orders, packing them, and checking out the customer. With limited hours that the restaurant was open I was reduced to 20 hrs a week and little tips. While a few customers were generous and tipped as if they were dining out it wasn't enough to cover bills.

I decided to find another option to generate income. I can work hard for someone else, I can work hard for myself.

I have sold plants online throughout the years on eBay. With little money invested in growing the plants my efforts were always profitable. Problem was I didn't have any plants at the time. I did order the plants I needed still I had to wait for shipping. Then when the plants did arrive I needed pots to plant them in.

So I went looking for a quick solution by searching "asking Google". The results lead me to diy cement pots. All of the cool ideas I found I did not try, lol. My first attempt I tried with a mixer bit on my cordless drill. I mixed it too fast without enough water and had to hurry to place it in my forms before it hardened. After getting cement stuck to everything, including myself, I was able to sculpt it to the form. Now keep in mind this was meant to be pots for myself. The final results yielded 5 small pots like the photo above.

The cement pots turned out cooler than expected so I listed one on Etsy as my first item while I waited for my plants to arrive. Before I knew it I started selling the cement pots!
